Hello! We are Ale and Charly, a digital nomad couple in our 40s who embarked on our journey in 2022, combining our passion for travel with our love for animals by providing pet care services while working remotely. We met in Buenos Aires at a multi-cultural event for travelers and have been sharing travels since 2011. With over a decade of shared experiences traveling and living with our dogs, we’ve honed our skills in caring for both homes and furry members of the family.

Ale brings unique expertise to our team as a veterinarian and specialist in animal behavior. Her knowledge ensures that your furry companions receive the highest standard of care and attention during their time with us.

We speak fluent Spanish, English, and some Portuguese and Italian. We are non-smokers and eager to know new cultures and make friends everywhere.

We believe that Pet Sitting (pet care in your own home) is a way to give furry companions the opportunity to maintain their quality of life and routines while their human families are away, avoiding the need to disrupt their familiar surroundings which can threaten their well-being.

Simultaneously, it allows us to continue working and live at our own pace while exploring wonderful places, experiencing new cultures, making new friends, and enjoying unique experiences. Pet Sitting offers us a different way of traveling, allowing us to relive the joy of spending time with pets, discover places we wouldn’t otherwise visit, and integrate ourselves into the communities we reside in.

Our mission is simple: to provide professional and dedicated pet care. We understand the importance of creating a safe and comfortable environment for both human and non-human members of the family. There’s nothing more rewarding for us than seeing pets return to their human families happy and relaxed after spending time in our care.

We’ve shared our lives with dogs and cats for nearly our entire existence, considering them integral members of our families. Our experience spans various breeds and sizes, providing us with a wealth of personal insight.

Since 2017, we’ve assumed the responsibility of tending to the physical and emotional needs of dogs and cats for our family and friends during their absences.

What sets us apart in the realm of Pet Sitting is Ale’s background as a veterinarian specializing in behavioral issues in dogs and cats. With certifications in Fear Free and Low-Stress handling, along with extensive knowledge in canine and feline education, we offer not only our experience as pet caregivers but also professional expertise. This ensures peace of mind for you, knowing that any issues that may arise during your absence will be handled competently.

In our daily routines of caring for homes with pets, we complement each other seamlessly. Ale tends to the pets’ needs while Charly takes care of the remaining household tasks, mirroring the division of responsibilities in our own home.

Our transition to remote work in 2020, during the pandemic, presented us with the opportunity to expand our horizons. This enabled us to travel farther and extend our pet and house sitting services to a wider audience. We began building our network of trust through social media platforms and services like Trusted House Sitters and Home Exchange, among others.

To date, we’ve accumulated over 30 experiences across 10 different countries.

For us, Pet Sitting operates as an exchange of services, where we provide essential care for your pet, and in return, you offer us a space to work and live while you’re away. Essentially, Pet Sitting involves looking after your pet in your absence.

The benefits for you include:

  • Companionship and care for your dog/cat. Your furry family member will receive attentive care for as long as you need, ensuring they feel loved and secure during your absence.
  • Maintenance of routines. Your pet will maintain their familiar routines as per your instructions, receiving the necessary affection to minimize stress caused by your absence.
  • Handling contingencies. We are equipped to handle some of the situations that may arise with your pet while you’re away. With our expertise in animal physical and mental health, you can rest assured that your pet is in capable hands.
  • House management. We’ll ensure that your home continues to function smoothly in your absence, addressing any necessary daily tasks or maintenance requirements.
  • Regular communication. You’ll stay informed about your pet’s well-being and any relevant updates via WhatsApp, email, or your preferred method of communication. We strike a balance between keeping you informed and allowing you to enjoy your vacation or trip without unnecessary interruption.

  • Electricity. Continuous electricity supply is essential. If your area experiences recurring power outages, you must provide an alternative and autonomous energy generation method. For combustion-powered generators, they must be positioned away from the workspace and living areas due to noise. We have lived in houses that work entirely on solar energy, and as long as the systems work properly we are very comfortable and happy with it. Homes that do not ensure access to electricity will not be eligible.
  • Comfortable workspaces. We require at least two comfortable workspaces equipped with suitable tables or desks and chairs to accommodate our remote work needs.
  • Internet connectivity. Reliable internet connectivity is crucial for our work, with a minimum upload/download speed of 20 MB and a latency of less than 200 Mbps. If you’re unsure about your connectivity, you can test it here:
  • Living space. A comfortable living space with separate sleeping quarters, a comfortable double bed, at least one bathroom, and a kitchen equipped with cooking essentials are necessary. We do not accept single-room accommodations.
  • Easy access to public transport and nearby markets (within a 5-minute walk) is preferred. Alternatively, if transportation is not readily available, you must provide us with our own vehicle. We hold international driver’s licenses and have experience driving in various countries. we have already driven vehicles that the owners provided us on previous assignments.
  • Proximity to poins of interest. We prefer homes located within a 30-minute drive from:
    • Cities or towns with cultural significance: museums, historical/arquitectural sites, shows; or
    • Nature: mountains, beaches, forests, natural reserves.
  • Emergency fund deposit. To address any unforeseen contingencies during our stay, we require a cash deposit equivalent to USD 200. This deposit will be kept in a sealed envelope within the house, and we will provide receipts for any expenses incurred. Open and fluent communication will be maintained with you in such cases.
  • Adittional housekeeping services. For houses larger than 50 m2, you’ll need to arrange for a cleaning service once a week or every 15 days.
  • Garden/Pool Maintenance. If your property includes a garden/yard or a pool, you’ll be responsible for arranging regular maintenance services. We are available to receive the individuals who will come to perform these tasks.
  • Local Veterinarian Contact. We require direct contact information for the local veterinarian who typically treats your pet.
  • Pet Supplies. Ensure all necessary pet supplies are provided for the duration of our stay, including daily food and walking accessories (if applicable).
  • Health Instructions and Medications. If your pet has any health conditions, please provide detailed instructions and necessary medications.
  • Internal Surveillance Systems. We do not accept properties equipped with internal surveillance systems as we prioritize maintaining our privacy.
  • Strict or Complex Protocols: We prefer to avoid any complications that may arise from overly strict or complex protocols or instructions for the use of spaces or devices in the house.

We prefer medium and long-term Pet Sitting arrangements. This entails a minimum duration of 2 weeks and a maximum of 2 months. Ideally, we prefer stays ranging from 30 to 45 days. However, if your absence exceeds 60 days (2 months) or falls below 15 days (2 weeks), we are open to negotiating alternative arrangements.

  • Pet care: This includes feeding, walking, cleaning of implements (such as feeders, water sources, litter trays, etc.), playing, providing attention, affection, and more. We cater to a variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, and farm animals.
  • Continuous occupation of the house: As remote workers, we spend the majority of our time in the house, ensuring companionship for your pet in our work time and some of our free time. This allows us to dedicate ample hours of the day to your pet’s well-being.
  • Regular maintenance of the house: We handle any situations related to our daily use of the house, maintaining order and basic cleanliness throughout our stay.
  • Normal use of the house resources: We utilize house resources as needed. However, if there are any restrictions or specific parameters for use (such as air conditioning usage), please inform us in advance to avoid any unforeseen expenses.
  • Regular updates: We provide regular updates on the status of your pet and your home, or as often as you request, to keep you informed and reassured.
  • Optional Services (Available at Additional Cost):
    • Answering contacts/phone calls
    • Receiving correspondence
    • Managing domestic services
    • Assisting with door access for repair services when it occurs more than once in our stay
    • Domestic tasks such as deep cleaning, car washing, gardening, and pool maintenance
    • Caring for pets with special or high-demanding needs

  • Constant Presence at Home: We do not stay at home 100% of the time, as we also explore the surrounding areas during our free time. Therefore, if you have more than 4 pets or if they cannot be left alone at any time for any reason, this service may not be suitable for you.
  • Household Expenses: Expenses related to the daily use of the house and our stay, including food, taxes, and household services (such as electricity, gas, internet, etc.), are not included in our service.
  • Specialized Tasks: We do not undertake specialized tasks such as deep cleaning of the house, gardening, pool maintenance, electrical repairs, repair of electronic devices, etc. If you need any of these, please get in touch to evaluate your needs and proposal.
  • Wild Animals: We do not care for wild animals, including birds, primates, reptiles, amphibians, etc. Our belief is that these animals belong in their natural habitats rather than domestic settings. Therefore, caring for such animals would contradict our principles.

Our service is offered with no fees or additional/hidden costs. We propose an exchange of services or favors with you. In essence, we pledge to care for your house and pet as if they were our own, and in return, you provide us with a suitable space to stay during our time in your area of residence, tailored to our needs.

We want you to feel safe and comfortable with our service, which is why we offer the following steps to ensure an effective exchange:

  • Contact Us: Reach out to us via WhatsApp and ask any questions you may have.
  • Video Call: If you’re interested in proceeding once we´ve spoked a little by wapp, we’ll suggest coordinating a video call to “meet” each other. During this call, you can share details about your home and pets, as well as your expectations for their care in your absence. We’ll also request a tour of the available spaces in your house, along with seeing your pet. If your pet has any behavioral conditions, Ale will evaluate the case to determine if the exchange is feasible for us.
  • Service Coordination: If the proposal aligns with our mutual expectations, we’ll coordinate the details of the service, including any additional information required to fulfill the assignment.
  • Arrival Coordination: Based on our experience, we recommend coordinating our arrival at least a few hours before your departure. This allows us to explore the house with you, acquaint ourselves with your pet, and address any questions or concerns regarding daily operations or potential contingencies. Alternatively, we’re open to arriving a few days before your departure to give your pet time to acclimate to our presence while you’re still at home.
